In late spring of 2008, my goddess introduced herself to me. Throughout my 12-year career as a therapeutic bodyworker, I had developed my intuitive abilities to the extent that I expected to feel, see, and hear spirit energies with my clients—guides, departed loved ones, astral projections of the living—as well as my spirit guides, who help to direct and participate in my healing sessions. Perhaps because I spend so much of my time in contact with the spirit world, I first thought this new entity I was perceiving was another “traditional” guide, an outside intelligence working with me to restore balance to my clients and myself. However, I eventually realized that she was not a presence that came to aid me when requested and then pulled back when done; instead, she was constantly with me. More precisely, she was constantly within me. Her energy felt familiar and comfortable, as if it had always been a part of me. And indeed, it had.
She told me that she was the archetypal personification of heart chakra energy and that she has come into this Earth environment through others’ heart energy many times. In each instance, her persona has developed from the specifics of the lives of the person through whom she manifests, but she always originates in the unconditional love vibration of the heart. Three of her names have been Quan Yin, Ishtar, and Isis, although there are many more. My particular version of her wishes to be called Mother of Souls.
A few weeks before Mother of Souls came through to me, I had gone for an intuitive reading from a woman I’d never met. She immediately sensed my healing ability and proclaimed that I was channeling goddess energy. As she began to use the Tarot cards, her spirit guide insisted that she choose the Empress card as my significator, a card which can be interpreted as mother goddess. Mother of Souls reminded me of that reading and confirmed that it related to our relationship—that she is the goddess energy that the reader felt coming through me.
For almost a year, I have been almost constantly aware of Mother within me. She has told me that it is now time for her to begin communicating with others. Although she has so strong a sense of the interconnectedness of all creation that she says that communicating with me is essentially the same as communicating with all of you, her intent to aid, nurture, and love us will be facilitated through the more public means of writing or speaking. Hence, I am to begin transcribing her words. (Please note that she will use the terms “this child” or “my child” to refer to me; occasionally, she will call me “Carol,” but more often she will use my occupational name, “Anchor.”) If you are inclined to read her messages, you may feel a stirring in the center of your chest as the heart energy that sends forth Mother’s words resonates with your own heart energy. All is meant as blessing. Namaste.
